Or whatever.Īdditionally, you can split the keyboard on each of these by assigning the same MIDI channel to more than one Sound and altering the range of each, so that the bottom half of the keybed plays bass and, by switching up a couple of octaves, the upper half plays your synth.

So Program 1 could be the general one, Program 2 could be your bass, 3 could be your synth, and 4 your strings.

Combined with the Program feature of the LPK25, it sort of gives you up to 4 full range "presets", if you will. So then when the LPK25 is on Program 2 it will only ever play the Sound assigned to channel 12 (via Sound MIDI settings), for example. Then you can map these channels to specific Sounds in Maschine. Now, you can set Programs 2, 3, and 4 on the LPK25 to transmit on different MIDI channels, so have Program 2 be channel 12, Program 3, be 13, and Program 4 be 14, for example. I have an LPK25 too and I have Program 1 on it set to 11 and the MIDI channel in Preferences set to 11, so that Program 1 will always play the currently selected Sound. So for example, you set that channel in Preferences to 11 and then the currently selected Sound will only respond to incoming MIDI notes on channel 11. The MIDI channel in Preferences is the one that will allow whatever Sound that is currently selected to be played. Have you set up the Sound MIDI settings for one of the Sounds and not given it the entire keyrange? This would limit which notes you can play from your keyboard. Right, so it seems like a suspicion I had might be true. I can supply some screen shots if needed. I know it is supposed to be simple so I am waiting to be proven this. I am currently running Maschine 1.6.2 on a mac with OSX 10.6 and the Akai LKP25.Īny help on this would be greatly appreciated. I noticed on one video that he selected a midi channel for the midi in for the sound, but there is no where that i can select the midi out channel of my keyboard or am I missing something? I have watched a number of youtube tutorials on the matter also.
